Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child was born into the family of South London. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. She went to The Brit School when she was 14 years old. Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on The dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes prior to being ended on The CW.
