JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. [1] She is an American singer, actress and charity worker. Simpson was signed to Columbia Records at the age of seventeen , having been in church choirs since she was a child. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, was sold two million copies across America. The lead single "I Want to Love You Forever" was a huge commercial success. Simpson changed her image to reflect a more mature image for her second studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had certified the album as gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album sold three million copies in the United States. During her earlier professional career, Simpson became known for her romance with and later marriage to Nick Lachey, with whom she appeared on the MTV reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 between 2003 and 2005. After the release of her first Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). As the soundtrack for the film, she also recorded the cover version of "These boots are made for Walking" In 2006, she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. With the release her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the genre of country music. In addition to her musical endeavors, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused line of 34 product categories. It is the most successful famous licensing company ever and has earned more than $1 billion in revenue to date. Simpson was also a participant on The Price of Beauty, which was a reality-TV show in 2010. She also judged the designs for clothing for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
